Pure Oil Channel

Pure Oil Channel fishing spot received its nickname from the old "Pure Oil Company". "Pure" established in 1914 ran operations from Ohio. Later moved to Chicago and changed name to "Pure Oil". In 1965 the Union 76 from California purchased Pure Oil.

For some great year round action fish Pure Oil Channel along the ledges for trout and redfish. You will need a shallow water boat for fishing the preferred method of drifting. You can be sure your in the right area when you see the oil rig and pipes just North of the Pure Oil Channel.

Located in the Upper Laguna Madre on the North side of Emmords Hole is the Pure Oil Channel fishing spot. You can enter from the ICW (Inter Coastal Waterway) or from the King Ranch Shoreline area.

Often times anglers will use this area for there last fishing spot on there way back in from more southern locations.
